  • Bridges pharmaceutical development and preclinical research to translate nanoparticle-based drug delivery concepts into clinically relevant applications.

  • Leads the preclinical evaluation of NanoDrug’s (Dual)-Hybrid Nanoparticle technology and supports pharmaceutical partners in assessing novel drug candidates and formulations.

  • Provides expertise in translational medicine, oncology, nanoparticle-based drug delivery, and clinically relevant preclinical models.

  • Identifies new therapeutic applications for (Dual)-Hybrid Nanoparticles and develops strategies for their preclinical validation.

  • Supports partners in evaluating the therapeutic potential, efficacy, and biological performance of nanoparticle-encapsulated active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

  • Connects NanoDrug with an international network of clinicians, pharmaceutical experts, and academic researchers to accelerate collaborative drug development.

  • As an internationally established physician-scientist and cancer researcher, she brings extensive experience in translating novel therapeutic concepts from laboratory research toward clinical application.

  • Leads Translational Molecular Imaging research at the University Medical Center Göttingen and the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences and contributes extensive scientific expertise in oncology and nanomedicine.

Biosketch

Frauke Alves is a medical doctor and cancer researcher, leading the interdisciplinary group “Translational Molecular Imaging” at the University Medical Center Göttingen and at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, the largest institute in the Max Planck Society and unique in its multidisciplinary and translational approach. Through her long-standing collaboration with Prof. Claus Feldmann, she has extended her extensive experience with nanoparticle-based strategies, particularly by pre-clinically evaluating the jointly patented Hybrid- and Dual-Hybrid-NP. During her time as an oncologist in the hospital, she experienced many times the urgent need for better treatment, especially for pancreatic cancer. This experience has been a significant motivator for her work, driving her commitment to developing novel effective therapeutic concepts. Her expertise in cancer research, preclinical evaluation of nanotechnology, close collaboration with industrial partners, and dedication to improving patient outcomes make her an invaluable asset to our team.
